Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to the new Fresno Housing.

This is an exciting year for our agency. As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we reflect on our history and look forward to the future — equipped with a strong vision and an articulated focus on creating vibrant communities throughout Fresno County.

In these 75 years, the Fresno Housing Authority has created homes for tens of thousands of families and individuals throughout the county. We have developed and maintained creative programs that support the economic resiliency, self-sufficiency, educational and career advancement, and civic engagement of our participants. We have worked diligently to act appropriately, effectively, and efficiently to meet the deep and broad needs of our community.

A few years ago, we embarked on a comprehensive process to define our goals and to create a new identity for the agency. We wanted to think big and we wanted to play our part in advancing Fresno County. Each day we are closer to meeting our goal of creating quality affordable housing for the diverse communities of Fresno County, but just as the stakes are high so are the challenges.

We remain inspired by our residents – by the incredible stories they have to tell about hard work, education, family, and looking forward.  We are inspired by our partners – who work each day to build community, offer opportunity, and think boldly and creatively to address the issues facing our community.  I invite you to come to our administrative office in downtown Fresno; here you’ll see images of our residents and participants lining the walls, and you will immediately sense the importance of a permanent, stable home – for children, young adults, and seniors alike.

As we look ahead as an agency, we do so with a clear vision of a strong Fresno County — as a place that is known for vibrant communities, quality housing, and engaged residents. We look forward to working with our residents and community partners to move this vision forward.
