Reverend Rueben A. Scott has dedicated his personal and professional energies to the Fresno community for more than five decades. Since 1962, when Rev. Scott founded the Providence Baptist Church in Fresno, where he has been Pastor and Administrator, he has served in diverse roles at the Red Cross, Neighborhood Council Area One, California Transportation Task Force, West Fresno Home Improvement Association, and the Franklin School Advisory Council. For more than 40 years, Scott has been involved in several Fresno-based institutions of higher education, including Fresno City College; California State University, Fresno; and Fresno Pacific University.

His commitment to the community is evident both in his professional endeavors and through the array of organizations in which he has participated over the years. A commissioner for more than 30 years, Rev. Scott was Chair of the City of Fresno Housing Authority Board for more than 20 years.
